Hotel information: Willa Orla
Address:
Zakopane,50 Koscieliska St.
Location:
The beauty of Polish Podhale is hidden in the rustle of Tatra forests, in crystal clear waters of streams, in simple mountain philosophy. Our Regional Guesthouse \"Willa Orla\" (Eagle Villa) is located in the foothills of Tatra Mountains, between the oldest highlanders' farms running along Kościeliska Street - \"Zakopane's old town\". It was here, where history of Zakopane started, here first town's church was founded, first inn, first villa was designed by the creator of Zakopane style, Stanisław Witkiewicz. Our guesthouse owes its unique atmosphere to its over hundred years' history, which dates back to 1864, from the bud of highlander hut. Today, Willa Orla is a building with all Witkiewicz style features, its over hundred years' history is reminded by the image of \"White-Tailed Eagle\" with proudly spread wings visible on the front ornamental joist, chiselled around 1900 as an expression of Tatra patriotic traditions. From the windows of our guesthouse extends majestic view on Giewont massif. Stylishly furnished interiors of Willi Orla, with antique clocks, paintings and material-culture objects remind of the building' past. True Polish hospitality and our delicious cuisine, famous for its appetizing home-made baking make our guesthouse the only place you can feel the charm of \"rocky Podhale\".
Accomodation:
We offer you rest in a stylish guesthouse with all state-of-the-art conveniences. Willa Orla houses picturesque single, double and triple rooms, regional two-storey studios and apartments. Each of our 21 rooms is different from the others and has its own charm. Naturally, all of them have luxury bathrooms. All rooms are entered through massive, wooden doors. Interiors have been arranged in the way that renders the atmosphere and the climate of Podhale, creating conditions favourable to rest, retaining at the same time historic elements of the building, wooden ceilings, creaking stairs and floors.
Facilities:
The decor and furnishings of \"Villa Orla\" constitutes of sofas, lounge armchairs, stylish chairs, antique cases, loom equipment and many more. The walls are decorated with mirrors, oil lamps, wall tapestry, kilims, paintings of local origin and many more. Our collection of traditional Shvarcvald clocks presented to us by professor Jan Samek, as well as paintings by the local painter Jozef Mularczyk, unique lamps by Jacek Pysio and wind instruments, create a truly unique style and feel.
Food:
Traditional home-made cuisine of Villa Orla. Continuing the Polish heritage and the traditions of the mountain pension house from before the war. In the traditional, and ambient decor of our dinning room, decorated with mountain artifacts and heritage family collections dating centuries back, we serve not only typical mountain dishes but also traditional Polish food. All meals are based on family recipes, and the jams, cakes and fruit preserves are made based on the recipes of Mania Samek dating over 100 years back.

Our cooks, Bronia and Halinka, prepare delicious treats, which are not only tasty but also large. The menu changes with seasons. All meals are carefully selected as far as their vitamin and mineral content is concerned. In the morning, we serve traditional Polish breakfasts available in the form of a buffet with scents of freshly baked buns, country bread and regional cheeses and hams, completed with our famous lard \"smaczek\": and home-made fruit preserves and jams.

Our lady cooks specialties are: mountain pie with garlic butter, Oscypek baked with mountain cranberries, Pork loin stuffed with sweet plums, Mushroom soup on bread, Old Polish style soup made from rye flour, Crunchy chicken wings in honey, Pierogi Bowl, Maryna's plait with roasted potatoes. Remarkable desserts inculde: \"Orla\" apple pie with whipped cream, cream cake \"Vistula Waves\" and superb Jancia's blueberry muffins, followed by country style Tea, country style mulled wine and those are just a few suggestions from our wide list of dishes and desserts made by our excellent cooks.
